    Does anyone here have information on the ships that would have followed the titanic by a day? Not looking for a specific rescue ship or nearby, just a sample of UK --> NYC normal carrying passenger ships. My paternal grandfather was aboard one of them and there are family notes of how he arrived to the docks only ot hear a great moan and groan and cry from assembled crowds as they received the good and bad news about the preceding scheduled ship now gone. I cannot find his passenger records (b1885), or not without paying. Thank you.

    My grandfather was part of the 92nd Bomb Group, 327th Squadron. He was shot down 9.11.1944 and was liberated by the Timberwolf Division Spring of 1945. Thank you for this upload.

    I was wondering, if we decide to let the milk infuse overnight.....do we have to reheat the milk before adding it to the egg yolks and sugar mixture? Or can we just mix it in cold from the fridge? Which is better? Thank you!

    I notice that most cars, or what remains of them, in the video are missing engines, and I wonder if anyone was so thoughtless as to loot spare parts from innocent dead people's cars? Or did Germans themselves take whatever they thought may help them repair their own cars, as by mid 1944 Germany was going downhill and supply of parts, oil, fuel and other things needed to keep them going was in shambles?

    For those who want plain/all-purpose flour equivalent weights: Full and Half Recipe amounts: FULL AMOUNT • 1 kg self-raising flour (OR 944g plain/all-purpose flour + 57g/11½ tsp (approx) baking powder ) OR 944g plain/all-purpose flour + 19g/ bicarbonate of soda + 38g/ cream of tartar • +15g baking powder extra (=10g cream of tartar and 5g bicarb of soda) • 250g /8.8 oz salted/unsalted butter • ½ tsp salt • 175g/6.2 oz raisins or sultanas • 375ml/13 fl.oz/1½ cups milk • 1 egg large (63g-73g in shell) • 175g/6oz castor sugar • 1 bottlecap of vanilla extract HALF AMOUNT • 500g self-raising flour (OR 472g plain/all-purpose flour + 28.5g /6 tsp (approx) baking powder) OR 472g plain/all-purpose flour + 9.5g bicarbonate of soda + 19g cream of tartar • 7.5g baking powder extra (=5g cream of tartar and 2.5g bicarb of soda) • 125g /4.4 oz salted/unsalted butter • ¼ tsp salt • 88g/3.1oz raisins or sultanas • 188ml/6 ½ fl.oz milk • Beat an egg and weigh out 32g-37g • 87g/3oz castor sugar • ½ bottlecap of vanilla extract NB: Better to weigh but: 5 grams of soda bicarbonate = approx. 1 teaspoon 3 grams of cream of tartar = approx. 1 teaspoon

    Why should we care now?? As they certainly didn't after the war when these bases were tore up..These airfields were some of the last places these brave young men ever saw they are monuments to be preserved but only by volunteers who actually give a shit...It disgusts me that these guys gave their all and that little piece of England became their home for whatever time they had........God bless you all.....
